Stress Test

The Stress Test rigorously evaluates your entire system's stability under Windows. It can be scripted to run the test modules sequentially, or concurrently, and can also be set up to stop or continue on any error that arises.

Passing an overnight Stress Test with no errors reported would indicate that a PC is in very stable condition. Running the Stress Test periodically on your PC would ensure that system components operate properly and help prevent adverse situations from occurring in the future such as system crashes and/or data losses.

The Stress Test is also used extensively by OEMs, system builders, technicians and end-users to do a burn-in test on a newly assembled or repaired PC.

Benchmarks

The Benchmarks test is designed to test and evaluate a PC’s performance under a Windows environment. Five major system components are tested and compared to a reference system. The Benchmarks test will run all enabled modules consecutively to evaluate the performance of each individual component.

Hardware Diagnostics (MS-DOS)

BCM Diagnostics for DOS is a DOS-based diagnostics program. It is a component of BCM Diagnostics Pro that helps you diagnose hardware problems on your PC. It bypasses the Windows operating system layers and performs tests down to the physical hardware level. The test results reflect your system's stability, reliability and compatibility.

System Health Monitor

The System Health Monitor can be launched in the background to periodically check free system resources, available memory and disk space, and CPU usage. If system resources dip below a desired threshold, a warning message is displayed.

Minimum System Requirements

  • A 486, or higher, 100% IBM AT compatible PC
  • Windows 95 or later operating system
  • Hard drive with 9 MB free space
  • VGA Color Monitor
  • Mouse and Keyboard

So whenever you have doubts about your system's reliability, or whenever you buy, build or repair a PC, you can use BCM Diagnostics Pro, both Windows and DOS versions, to perform a rigorous physical examination on your PC and understand its stability and capability. Distributed via download only.
