TTW Diagnostics
for DOS
TTW Diagnostics for DOS is a DOS-based
diagnostics program. It is a component of #1-TuffTEST for Windows that helps you diagnose hardware problems
on your PC. It bypasses the Windows operating system layers and performs tests
down to the physical hardware level. The test results reflect your system's stability, reliability and compatibility.
Some Plug-an-Play (PNP) devices do not get initialized under DOS and will not be detected or tested. If possible, select Non-PNP Operating System in the system's BIOS Setup program.
When Hardware Diagnostics (MS-DOS) is selected from the #1-TuffTEST for Windows Tools menu, a message box will pop up as shown below:
Click on Yes to restart the computer in
MS-DOS mode and use the current configuration in AUTOEXE.BAT and
CONFIG.SYS, and then run TTW Diagnostics for DOS. The restart process
is same as the option "Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode"
in the Shut Down Windows message box. Certain tests will be skipped if
memory managers, such as EMM386.EXE, are detected.
Click on No to restart the computer in
MS-DOS mode and use the default configuration specified by TTW Diagnostics for DOS. This function will reboot the computer, remove
all memory manager drivers, boot up from MS-DOS and then run TTW Diagnostics for DOS.
TTW Diagnostics for DOS can also be run
in command-line mode without user interaction. This mode is mainly
used for production line or burn-in testing.
So whenever you have doubts about
your system's reliability, or whenever you buy, build or repair a PC, you can
use #1-TuffTEST for Windows to perform a rigorous physical examination on your PC and
understand its stability and capability. Distributed via
download only.
